Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy Today
Improved Nutrition plays a prominent role in the promotion of health and the prevention and treatment of disease.  Many conditions and diseases are linked to modern diets which are often too high in fat, salt, sugar, chemicals, more processed and less and less nutritious.  A diet low in nutrients together with a stressful lifestyle can reduce energy levels, immune function, digestive function, nervous function and other function in the body, making us more susceptible to health problems, such as:

* Indigestion
* Ulcers
* Anxiety
* Irritability
* Food intolerance
* Frequent colds
* Weight problems
* Bowel problems
* Chronic Fatigue
* Depression
* Heart Disease
* Joint and bone problems

plus many more

Good Nutrition has a profound affect on the health of people of all ages, improving the quality of life, relieving unpleasant symptoms and often speeding a return to good health.  Many people receiving Nutritional Therapy have complete recovery from their condition.

A Few words about Weight Loss
By tailoring your diet to suit your needs  and current health status, losing weight can be fast and easy, with no calorie counting or measuring of foods.

Food Allergy/Intolerance
Food intolerance testing can be done during the first Consultation if needed, a separate appointment is not necessary.

How does Nutritional Therapy work?
Nutritional Therapy aims to improve your own body's efficiency by identifying  health problems form symptoms and possibly a food sensitivity test, and then suggesting ways of correcting the disorder with  some dietary changes and sometimes a few helpful supplements, designed specifically for you and your individual needs.

Nutritional Therapy does not mean following difficult diets or excluding favorite foods, even if you have an intolerance to certain foods, they only need to be eliminated for a short period for diagnostic reasons, during which time many alternatives and tempting recipes will be given to you whilst desensitising takes place, then the offending food may be gradually reintroduced into the diet.

Disease is not a stagnant process, each and everyone of us is unique and responds differently to external pressures and illness. Nutritional Therapy is designed to meet individual needs.

How to get help
Contact The Centre, where an appointment can be booked for you or if you feel that you would like to discuss your condition over the phone before making an appointment.  A health questionnaire will then be sent to you for completion to bring along to your first consultation, this will give  a comprehensive overview of your current and past health problems.

Your first consultation will normally last for approximately one hour. Follow up appointments are usually half an hour.  2-3 appointments are usually all that is necessary to complete your treatment programme.
